Reviews For Shadow and Flame
This is wonderful. A tragic tale, and yet Glorfindel seems calm, knowing at last what he would have done. I also liked his thoughts about the kinslaying. He couldn't know what he would have done.
Oh, thank you so much! For my version of Glorfindel, I decided to stick with Tolkien's thoughts that Glorfindel was reborn and returned to Middle-earth because he did not take part in the kinslaying. But that still made me wonder, because if Glorfindel didn't take part in the kinslaying because he arrived too late at Alqualonde, then isn't his innocence simply a product of chance? It's something I think he would have grappled with, and I am glad that you liked the story! :)
Oh Esteliel, that is so tragic, and so sad; it is how I imagine Glorfindel's death *sniff* I just read it on the Birthday page. There is nothing in Tolkien's work from Glorfindel's viewpoint as he battles the balrog, but I imagine that this is how he would have felt.
Oh, thank you! I know it's a story that has been written countless times, but I guess it is a story which sooner or later, every Glorfindel writer will have to tell eventually, and so far I only touched on it in the vision Legolas saw in Galadriel's Mirror. I'm so glad that you enjoyed this, though, as you write these epic, tragic moments so perfectly! *hugs*
