Comments For A Quiet Life
I do hope you pick this up, rawr balrog - I wanted to tell you how very intersting this is, the nature of 'death', the concept of waiting and the notion of his redemption. It is very very well written with a kind of puzzled objectivity that seems entirely appropriate to me.
I thought of this story today and checked to see if I had missed an update. It's a wonderful beginning. It makes a lovely one-shot. But I would so very much like to read more. I think it is the only story I have read with this sort of transition from the Halls of Mandos back into the "real world."
Author's Response: Aw, thank you! I do need to come back and finish this. I had a bunch of notes about where I wanted to go with this, but then I got busy with work and uni night classes and life... I'm glad that you remembered it, though! Encouragement definitely helps motivate me to try and finish it...
This is a really interesting take on the Halls of Mandos. The scenes before he leaves are so atmospheric and dream-like. I'm curious what will happen next!
I'm really glad you liked it. I wanted there to be a tangible (lol) difference between death and the physical/living world and the process of reentering it. It's great to hear it works for you. Thanks for taking the time to review! Hopefully it won't be TOO long until the next chapter.
Really interesting! Waiting for continuation...
Thank you! I'm nearly finished a draft of the next chapter, so pending revisions it shouldn't be terribly long. Thanks for reviewing!
