Reviews For I Know Better
It was painful, but well-done. I appreciated that you presented it from a totally different angle. It wouldn't be worth reading fanfic if each author developed the same material in identical ways.
Oh, I'm happy (and equally amazed) that this snippet shed a new light on this scene.
Thank you so-so much for leaving a review!
What an intriguing, thought-provoking and painful read. This is an angle on Maedhros' thoughts on the shore of Losgar that I haven't considered yet, nor seen presented in this manner before, and I commend you for digging this deep (rather like the prince in the graveyard - Alas, poor Yorick?) and unearthing the raw feelings and alienation inside Maedhros. Some very acute observations - too easy to see Melkor behind every mistake indeed - and extremely powerful imagery. In short, excellent work!
This was a completely spontaneous piece, and very different from what I usually publish.. I'm glad if it was by any means enjoyable (even in a painful way!) :)
In retrospect, though, I feel like I missed a few chances here and there - there could have been some nice parallels to unfold between Yorick and Hamlet and Maitimo and the "crown prince" he became. / I'm happy that you caught the reference with such exactitude! /
And seeing Melkor behind every mistake made is my new favourite perspective...
Thank you so-so much for reading, and for letting me know what you thought! I really appreciate it :)
