Title: Nessa

Excellent essay, Oshun.  How do you wring so much from so little in the sources?  I thought immediately of Diana when reading about Nessa.  And I was amused at your comments about Tolkien's earlier Norse-godlike Valar and Valier as oppsed to his later "largely pious and well-behaved Valar"  Yes, indeed.  Your essay should inspire lots of fanfic.

Author's Response:

Thank you so much for reading and for taking the time to comment. I do have fun workingon these.

Title: Nessa

I thought of Nessa as always running and dancing. I hadn't remembered that bit about the carousing Valar at all!

Author's Response:

I was surprised myself. I admit that I skimmed The Book of Lost Tales and, although I now refer to it a lot, I use it primarily as reference. I am glad I found something to entertain you.
