In short: no. We do not claim to be able to judge quality and want to establish a low-pressure, fun community where writing of all styles and genres and by writers of all ability levels is welcomed. If your work is based on The Silmarillion and has been checked for spelling and grammar, then you meet our posting requirements, and we encourage you to share to writing with our group.
However, please be aware that research articles and essays that you wish to appear in our Reference section will be reviewed by the SWG moderators (for essays on writing) and by SWG moderators and a panel of members who volunteer as reference readers (for essays about Tolkien's world). Please check our submission guidelines for more information on including your non-fiction work in our Reference library.
