Do fanworks have to pass an approval process to be included in the archive?

In short: no. We do not claim to be able to judge quality and want to establish a low-pressure, fun community where fanworks of all styles and genres and by creators of all ability levels are welcomed. If your work is based on The Silmarillion and you've done your best to spellcheck and proofread (if your fanwork is written work), then you meet our posting requirements, and we encourage you to share your fanworks with our group.

However, please be aware that our Reference Library does use a peer-review process for nonfiction references that the author would like to include there. Check our reference submission guidelines for more information on including your nonfiction work in our Reference Library.
