Nice theory! I gather that it is not exactly head canon for you, though, as you've since written an alternative version of Glorfindel's transport to Middle-Earth.

I like Thorondor's take on things and Glorfindel's politeness and good humour.

I have a feeling that I probably ought to know who Nim/Nam is, but am mentally blocked.

Eh, head canon... it's s tricky beast. I find I can hold conflicting interpretations in my mind. Especially when (as here) the practical details differ, but characterization is more or less the same. (Although I do have all sorts of varied Gil-Galads on the brain.) But yes, I suppose the other version is meant to be the "real" one.

And it WAS Finrod, who also went by "Nom" ("wisdom"). Why the Eagle chose that name, I have no idea.
