This post reads two annotated translations of two Elvish songs to step through a crossroads in the narrative to arrive at the tower on the margin of the story, wherein is a stone that is a window onto Valinor.

He has told her of his fear but she reassures him that she is stronger than before. He cannot argue with her again tonight—it tears a part of him inside when he does. He finally agrees but only if she will let him share his fire and strength with her from the beginning this time—he cannot go through the kind of terror he did when Moryo was born.
