Fanwork Notes

Warnings: Implied Major Character Death, Suicidal Ideation

Written for the Silmarillion Writer's Guild's Middle-earth Olympics Challenge Boccia Prompt. My prompts given to me by the awesome Raiyana were: Orodreth, magic, strength; added prompt at the halfway point: dancing

...If you're side-eying me hard for counting this fic as containing all of those, I really do not blame you.

I really like this take on Orodreth's thoughts behind following the "advice" of Túrin. It makes perfect sense that he'd be exhausted after all the defeats and allegations of cowardice, and that he'd realise that he won't be able to hide forever, even if it might work for another couple of years or even decades. Perhaps he could have protected his people just long enough - but he has no way of knowing if help will ever come, and there's something very human (or Finwean for that matter) in deciding to go out in a blaze rather than whither and fade away.

(I can also see the prompts in here just fine - they don't have to be taken literally, after all!)
