Just Say It with a Gift!
In Tolkien’s legendarium there is a lot of gifting happening, including in The Silmarillion. We would like to challenge you to write about gift-giving (be it material or immaterial) by your characters or perhaps to write about traditions of gift-giving amongst the people who lived during the ages represented in The Silmarillion.

Songs of Arda
Music is important in The Silmarillion. This month's challenge asks authors to look at the role of music and songs in Arda. Stories and poems should focus on music, whether the casual influence of music in daily life or on a specific song on instance where music was used.

The Library of Tirion is a section of our archive for stories by authors who were active in the fandom prior to the creation of the SWG archive. We only have a few more Library of Tirion stories left to post and would like to keep this part of our site active. Please recommend your favorite stories by authors who posted prior to 2007! Use the Library of Tirion page to request new authors.

We have recently seen a spate of reported problems from members trying to use our archive with IE 9. The archive will work with IE 9, but you'll need to set your browser to compatability mode. Microsoft's help page can assist you in setting your browser to work with the archive.

Have you always wanted to read a certain pairing or scenario, but couldn’t write it yourself? Have it written for you – specifically and especially for your own sweet self! And share your own fic gift in exchange! The Ardor in August Fic Exchange is now accepting signups through May 20! This post has more information about how to participate in Ardor in August.

LotR Genfic Community
The LotR Genfic Community has two challenges for May. In the Bunny Hutch challenge, you will be assigned a plotbunny suggested by another participant.
