Fëanor shrugged, studying the contents of his wine glass. “Something must be done about that house. It will fall down eventually.” “It does not follow that it must be you that tears it down single-handedly. Are you sure you do not want help?” “It’s not as though I…

A brilliant idea! I am really looking forward to seeing how this plays out because so much will change in the story now. If Maitimo is not ever in Angband, will he ever be Maedhros, will he vbe the steely man he becomes? There will be the same sense of loss and recovering him from his brothers but will he feel the same need to abdicate ? Lots of what ifs...
Yes, it's a very different kettle of fish! I haven't gotten very far in plotting all the far-reaching implications, but the Maitimo to Maedhros translation will certainly be challenging.
Oh- you CANNOT leave it here! Does this mean that Maglor is the one trapped on Thangorodrim? It is just not good that Tyelkormo is king- he will never give up the crown to Maitimo - well, he might but is more likely to see him as a traitor. And with Turgon dead that leaves Gondolin exactly where??? Intriguing and fascinating- it will plague me not to know!!
Just found this and read it. Love the premise, the juxtaposition of what we know, inverting some of the canon and changing the narrative Events. Really intriguing and I love Findekano and Maitimo. Hope there is more to this!
