Yes, it is nice to have at least someone sharing similar preferences, and sometimes there will be deep understanding, and in the very end even something like love.

This process may require its amount of time and work, but what it earns, is permanent and strong .

I love how much respect you show your characters, all of them, exploring their motivations and feelings. It would be a terribly complicated situation and I am glad that your Fingon finds love (or at least a deep understanding) for his future wife, even if she wouldn't have been his first choice if he'd been free to choose.
