"Move farther north," Caranthir says to her a month after the attack, gaze steady on her even as his hands continue briskly gutting fish. "There is plenty of land closer to my fortress, and my people can help protect yours if there is another attack."
Fëanor shrugged, studying the contents of his wine glass. “Something must be done about that house. It will fall down eventually.” “It does not follow that it must be you that tears it down single-handedly. Are you sure you do not want help?” “It’s not as though I…

Yes, it is nice to have at least someone sharing similar preferences, and sometimes there will be deep understanding, and in the very end even something like love.
This process may require its amount of time and work, but what it earns, is permanent and strong .
I love how much respect you show your characters, all of them, exploring their motivations and feelings. It would be a terribly complicated situation and I am glad that your Fingon finds love (or at least a deep understanding) for his future wife, even if she wouldn't have been his first choice if he'd been free to choose. Looking forward to the continuation of this story!
Ah I love this so much. That you are taking the time to explore everyone's perspectives on this, well i love it. The exchange between Fingon and Maedhros was particularly well written. I appeciate seeing this more vulnerable Maedhros, because of course, why not. So lovely your writing!
Thank you! I'm trying to keep this balanced between all three characters, because I don't want anybody to become the "bad guy". It's just a sucky, painful situation for everyone.
Having read through the series, I do wonder if you will get to that part where Ianneth finds out about Maedhros. How and also Fingon's heartbreak. Again, I feel lucky to have discovered your writing :-)
