A Very Silmarillion Alphabet

Couplets were initially composed to entertain myself while having a several-day episode of insomnia. This may or may not be reflected in the quality of the verse, lol.

The conditions for the Finalized version were:

- use a character for every letter that a character’s name starts with

- don’t use any names that the prev author already used

- keep the meter and rhyme scheme at least SOMEWHAT decent

D is for Denethor, slain on a hill.

E is for Eilinel, much-beloved wife.

F is for Fëanor, author of strife.

G is for Glorfindel, pulled off his feet.

H is for Huor who held the retreat.

I is for Ibun who died off the page.

J is for jealousy leading to rage.

K is for Khîm who was murdered for sport.

L is for Lalaith who died as a squirt.

M is for Míriel who’d just had enough.

N is for Nimloth, along with her love.

O is for Orcs who don’t even get names.

P is for Pharazôn jailed in a cave.

Q is for quest, a bad thing to be given.

V, Valaraukar in battle with elves.

W’s actually Why, which we all ask a lot,

And for some X-plication on details of plot.

Y is Yavanna’s trees, glowing then gone,

And Z is for Zero who came out unharmed.
