A Bow of Burning Gold

Read A Bow of Burning Gold

After encountering Glaurung and succeeding in running him off, Fingon thought long on what would be better next time -- for the creature was still young, not yet grown into full size or strength or capability, and who knew what those would prove to be? Though malice he certainly had in full measure. This would not be the last they saw of such things. Their war-bows had done damage, and their spears, but not enough. A stronger bow, from horseback, sturdier arrows.... He could almost see it, burning gold against smouldering malice, ice-imbued sharpness flying true. A challenge for the weapon-smiths.
