The wave of revulsion rose, crested, broke him, broke inside him, shattered his trust and his care and his love and his very conception of family. Finrod’s heart beat in a furious tattoo of loathing, of absolute fury, his monumental hurt cradled in his soul, a songbird with a broken wing. 
“How dare you come here, how dare you return to my side, after what you’ve done?”
Curufin raised an eyebrow, impassive, leaning against the doorframe with the languid grace of a hunting-cat. “I dare your wrath, Felagund, for I thought you might prefer to lance your anger in private.”

Ouch! This is so painful, and powerful - I love the way your words rise up like a wave and then subside - Finrod is so utterly furious, and then he's this broken-(hearted?) songbird...and Curufin doesn't seem to care much either way. I'd love to read more of this!
