Now I return, in love though not wisest,

Receive the gifts I bring; and do not run

Unless it be to me - for I am done

Stay with me

Written for a SWG instadrabbling session. The prompts were 'love, sorry, forgotten, carry' and ' let me be lawless and beloved'.

The first letter of each line spells 'stay with me', which Túrin had said to Beleg at their previous meeting.

So often have I regretted letting you leave alone,

That I did not do as you wished

And return to Doriath. I have forgotten many things, but never your care.

Yet I love these companions of mine. They need me; and

While I love you so much more,

I could not summon the will to cross the border.

The thought of being pardoned for a deed I did not do

Hurt my pride overmuch. I am truly sorry!

My tongue tangles the words, but I mean them

Even so. I will accept the gifts you carry, and your counsel too.
