Laurelin’s golden light shone on Nerdanel’s face as she approached the Trees. Her relationship with Fëanor had been rocky for a while, but with him and their sons banished to Formenos, she had had enough and left.
“I should have expected you to come here.” Startled, Nerdanel turned and saw it was Indis who had spoken. Nerdanel smiled at her despite her sadness.
“It would seem we are in the same position,” she said.
“But we don’t have to be alone. I have a home here, and you’re welcome to stay.” Indis held out her hand, and Nerdanel took it.
