Nienor spent long hours in Nargothrond’s caverns, the streams of sunlight from overhead channels falling gently onto mirrors that scattered the light over lush gardens. Vibrant. Healthy. The Eldar seemed to favor capturing such ephemeralities, carving gems and weaving tapestries of unsurpassed beauty with hands that never idle. They knew such things must pass, yet they try to hold it for as long as they might.
Nienor knew the most beautiful things could not be captured in art. But if she could, it would be the perfect green of Finduilas’s eyes as she looked at her from across the garden.
