That must have been a tough thing for Maglor to do! Walking through the ruins and seeing the traces of their former inhabitants everyday life would be hard on anybody, but with his memories and his senses tuned in to the lament of the stones, it must have been especially painful for him. The pain, as well as the bitter sweetness of the memories, are really tangible.
