Written for the prompts "Imagery" and "Return of the king".  It was fun to write a fic around these prompts without actually including them; I hope I have succeeded to some extent.

Oh, I like how you worked with the anti-prompts here. I'd never thought of Fingon leaving a note, and it makes such sense. He's about to do a decidedly not calm and reasonable thing, yet his thoughts are be rational even if his heart is pulling him to act on intuition.

 

Thank you; I'm delighted that you enjoyed this!  The struggle between the pull of one's emotional response to something and one's rational thoughts was something I enjoy exploring through the prompts and resulting fic!
