If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world

In this image, an elaborate gilded two-handed cup is embossed with a scene showing Beren and Luthien facing Carcharoth, depicted as a huge almost boar-like wolf.  Beren holds the star-like silmaril high, and Luthien, exhausted, holds his other hand. Behind them, the three peaks of Thangorodrim rear, and spear-carrying goblins lurk behind a rock.
A hand, that of the Beowulf-thief, is reaching out to take the gilded cup.
Next to the huge gilded cup, and ignored by the thief, is a small brown carved wooden cup. In the carving on this cup, two small figures, Frodo and Sam, stand before Mount Doom with smoke pouring from the mountain-peak.
