Fanwork Notes

In addition to the archive warnings, this fic contains a depiction of trauma disorders and generational trauma, light manipulation and abuse from relatives, bullying from peers, irresponsible alcohol consumption, intoxication, and graphic hunting.

Thank you to erulasse for beta reading and reassuring me that Finrod is very noble and crushable. <3 OC names are from Chestnut_pod's elvish name list.

“I believe you are confusing me with Huan, though I understand why,” Celebrimbor replies. “We are both as handsome as we are lazy.” this is so funny but also ouch I can see him feeling he's in the same position, his father's tagalong on one hand and his uncle's on the other

Finrod’s eyebrows rise in surprise. “You seem to jump to the worst conclusions in every situation, Celebrimbor,” Finrod says.

“I have had much practice in ending in them, as well,” Celebrimbor says queasily. 😭 nooooooo not the foreshadowing

“You care about beauty. Even when darkness and despair threaten to overshadow our days, you wish to create beautiful things. I admire that.”

“One might say it is foolish when what we need are swords, and not jewels,” Celebrimbor replies, looking away.

“No,” Finrod shakes his head, “It gives me hope. I think that will save us, in the end." agghhh I love them both so much.

“Leaving an untested captain to defend a vital holding is foolishness indeed,” Finrod says in an even tone. “You were hopelessly outnumbered. You never should have been left alone to command those archers, inexperienced as you were. The fault is your father’s, for expecting more than any man should ask of his son.” ahh no what a horrible time to get pushed into command

Finrod’s kiss is a bright light shining in the darkness, blinding him to all else. this is so beautiful and I love Celebrimbor's courage in asking
