When Sorrow Sang by Ellynn

Fanwork Notes

Title is "borrowed" from a Blind Guardian song. I feel it somehow suits to this story.

For the warning, I chose "character death", though Beren is not mentioned in the story; but we all know why Luthien went to Mandos. In fact, for the warning, I would most rather say: dark, disturbing, sad atmosphere.

Big thanks to Dawn Felagund for beta reading; she made this translation much better. *big hug*

Perhaps Luthien's song was even sadder and evoked even stronger emotions, as you say in your note, but I think this is a very powerful attempt to capture her song and the effect it had on Mandos! Kudos to you for your attempt--and I think you did really well.

(Also wishing you a belated Happy Birthday!)
