When uneasy dreams bring him back into Beleriand, Daeron finds a pair of twins who have lost their home, and an enemy who has lost himself. The Shadow's reach is growing ever longer, and if they are to survive, they must do it together.
Fëanor shrugged, studying the contents of his wine glass. “Something must be done about that house. It will fall down eventually.” “It does not follow that it must be you that tears it down single-handedly. Are you sure you do not want help?” “It’s not as though I…
Erestor lay up against a tree, brown washed to black in the wet of the snow. The black disc of the new moon sailed across the dark sky. Erestor wished it were gone. He had no need to look into dark eyes any longer.
He was dying.
(AKA Erestor unwittingly travels back in time to the…
Have you ever wondered what would happen if the characters in The Silmarillion were smoooooth like they were sippin' a Sex on the Beach on a party barge in the harbor at Alqualondë? The "Yacht Rock Silmarillion" retells The Silmarillion as though the characters all had perms…
"Move farther north," Caranthir says to her a month after the attack, gaze steady on her even as his hands continue briskly gutting fish. "There is plenty of land closer to my fortress, and my people can help protect yours if there is another attack."

Expanding on my 2018 article "Why People Don't Comment," comment data from the SWG underscores community as an essential component to a robust commenting culture.
By definition, fanworks fandom does not draw a lot of boundaries, but community archives and events have taken a strong stance against AI-generated fanworks due to ethical considerations and member input.

I love your Dwarven/Elven interactions; you paint them so well as culturally different, but equally human. Your Dwarven warrior makes some very astute observations. I'm glad she doesn't think the decision of the Elves to avoid further warfare cowardly, but instead sensible as they don't have the technology! Also, in typing this, I realised that the title of your story applies to the shell-shocked young survivor as much as to the fallen, which is very clever. Another great piece dealing with a chapter that gets glossed over by the chronicle (and usually, by fandom too)!
Thank you! Making them culturally different but still relatable as humans is important to me, so I'm glad they seem that way to readers! My Dwarves are very sensible that way - if you don't have the right tools for the job, you should either get the right tools or leave it to someone who does have the right tools. Nobody would try to dig down into a mine with a sword, after all. :P And I'm glad you picked up on the title! This is probably the only clever title I've managed to come up with this year.
I'm another one enjoying your dwarf-elf interactions. I felt for the poor shell-shocked elf and admired how your dwarf was both sympathetic but also practical.
It definitely could have gone that way, though I don't think these elves would want to (Thingol's elves would accept arms from dwarves, these just want to go away and mourn their King).
