Thanks! Reading your comments is always a pleasure!

I haven't been writing much fanfiction, as I am at the moment working on finishing the translation of some original projects of mine from my native language to English. So, things are exciting!

Regarding Melkor not washing - glad you liked this, as this is my favorite detail too - yes, the idea is that denying himself (and not only others) the pleasures (or needs) of life is also a very serious kind of evil. By insisting on self-righteousness he is actually being very egotistical, not unlike his usual portrayal of the self-indulgent rebel. He is here also a rebel, but not in an attractive way - he doesn't wash himself, he starves himself and, most importantly - doesn't exercise his creative abilities - because he is an arrogant douche bag who still thinks that he is better than others. His dislike of the sea hasn't occurred to me - it's a good idea - but I generally see Melkor as promoting equal opportunity hatred.

 Again, thanks for commenting!
