Very interesting! And very sad. I'm left feeling sorry for both characters. It took me a second to get what the ending meant, but I probably have to blame that on the fact that it's 1:30am as I review. ;) I love the first couple of lines--I always think it's hard to dive right into the action in a scene or story, but you do very well with it here.
I've told you before that I love this piece ... and I'm telling you again. :) It is definitely an example of something served well by the drabble format; the terse language inherent to most drabbles really creates a nice mood here. (Not to mention dark ... *shivers*)
This drabble, just as the first time I read this, chilled me to the bone. This was brought in a very powerful way and leaves a firm impression that sticks around for a while. Greatly drabbled!
