Ulmo & Tuor

Inspired by Mayan art (as well as my background in medieval illuminations), and represents Ulmo appearing to Tuor at Vinyamar after Tuor has taken up the arms and armor left by Turgon.

The inspiration for Ulmo comes from this carved depiction

Tuor’s inspiration was various images of warriors in both Mayan and Aztec art, and the weapon he is holding is a macuahuitl

Jaguar!Beleg & Turin

Protecting the borders of Doriath

Beleg is inspired by Aztec art of warriors in Jaguar ‘skins’ and Túrin’s Dragonhelm is inspired by a pre-Columbian gold artifact.  The rest of Túrin’s depiction is based on various images of Aztec warriors, clothing, and adornments.  The weapon he is holding is a macuahuitl

Gwindor, Túrin, and Finduilas in Nargothrond

Túrin in Nargothrond, enjoying some chocolate with Gwindor and Finduilas. (because, of course, Finrod brought those cocoa beans across Helcaraxë, no question!)

My headcanon for this image is that the “Golden House of Finarfin” was in fact quite literal and they put gold powder in their hair!

I popped into your gallery after seeing your Beleg avatar on the server again, and realised I'd never left a comment here! (Although I so appreciated the pre-posting sneak-peeks and then the Tumblr posts!)

Seeing these makes me feel happy. And 'awnspired'! They're not just simply pleasing to look at. You really have a talent for adapting styles while keeping the characteristics of the characters so clear.
