Oh wow, that was really well done! I feel so strongly for both Maglor giving up something precious without feeling like he has a choice and Elrond who feels like no one really understands what it is they actually had that he lost.

I just love the structure of this, with Maglor's swirl of felings building up to Elrond's more structured, but still undefinable, thoughts about his fostering... And that Maglor's feelings unswirling, tumbling towards that final word - lost. Powerful stuff!

I like the shape this makes: the swelling and ebbing that describes Maglor's experience contrasted with the stable block of text that represents Elrond's point of view.

It seems to fit the complexity of their situation and emotions very well!

I read this in the fanzine, but  I don't think I managed to leave a comment at the time. It is good to revisit it.
