I was thinking how the story of the creation of the Dwarves we have in the Silmarillion is the Elvish version, and I wondered how the Dwarves themselves might tell it. Or maybe if Tolkien had been Jewish instead of Catholic. ;) With reference to the Silmarillion, Chapter 2: "Of Aulë and Yavanna" and the book of Genesis, Chapter 22.
