This is lovely. The speaker has lost so much of her personhood. She can communicate with trees as well as with another person.  But she is still alive, like the trees around her are alive, so she finds in the kinship between people and trees something of a space for herself.

Oh, what a beautiful way these soon-to-be friends meet. I love that they are introduced by the trees — very fitting for those who tend plants. And this backstory adds another dimension to Mirror. I'm so glad you managed to write this. 

I love this! I'm so glad Dernodhos (as she becomes) finds some kindness and a welcome, after a lifetime in Angband and that earlier rejection.

I haven't read the fic you mentioned that this is connected to, but I like these characters! Echeleb seems great, and I hope so much that Dernodhos gets to be happy (in so far as that is possible in this time period of Middle-Earth)
