Poor lonely Gwindor. I'm sure it does him good, a bit, to be able to talk through some things with Celebrimbor, even if it ultimately won't save the situation.

Also, I'm always interested in what writers think Celebrimbor made of all that.

I read a fic in which Celebrimbor was trying to build the bridge in a way so that it could be quickly brought down from the start, but of course carefully placed explosives as a precautionary measure would do the job, too! If they had only let him.
