About Me
I live with mice and books in the middle of Germany. In real life, I wrestle with numbers, taxes and paragraphs to pay the bills, while in private priding myself at reciting the royal Noldorin family tree from memory. Being a maverick in the world of fandom, I have a heart for underdogs and misunderstood villains. I love details being part of details in a field of details and the flaws in characters.
To my everlasting shame, I did not know Tolkien nor his works until Peter Jackson threw the movies on the market. Always ready to swim against the current, I sneered at the commerce only to read the books a few month later. (The Harry Potter Syndrome. I always fall for it...)
Of course, I ended up with the Silmarillion, not least because of a more realistic, and thus more interesting, view on elves than Lord of the Rings showed. I was not disappointed.
