Fanwork Notes

This poem emerged from the depths of Moria, and still needs some shaping and polishing! Or maybe it's a rather rough translation...

It makes rather free with the Song of Durin, but only respect is intended.

I love the idea that Legolas noticed all of these things about Gimli and the dwarves, even while they were still fairly brusque to each other.

I absolutely adore this conceit.  It's an incredibly unique take on Legolas and Gimli's relationship, and it's such an intimate one? The way we not only get to see Legolas's thoughts/feelings but also implicitly something he's crafting for Gimli--it makes all of it seem so close and real!  (Also the meter really flows and kind of hops along in a way that I can't properly describe but really really enjoy)
