Fanwork Notes

Created for the Swinging 40s challenge prompt:

This cruel age has deflected me,
like a river from this course.
Strayed from its familiar shores,
my changeling life has flowed
into a sister channel.
      ~ Anna Akhmatova

"For though at Eöl’s command she must shun the sunlight, they wandered far together under the stars or by the light of the sickle moon; or she might fare alone as she would would, save that Eöl forbade her to seek the sons of Fëanor, or any others of the Noldor."

So beautiful, with the greens and flecks of gold.

A wonderful forest scene, but Aredhel looks small and rather lonely in it, and a bit as if she has been sucked in or is about to be.

That Akhmatova quotation does fit her very well!

Yes, the quote did seem to describe this time in her life when things took an unexpected although not wholly unpleasant turn. I'm glad the sense of scale comes across — Nan Elmoth is a weird and eldrich place! I'm so glad you like it, thank you for commenting!
