Have you ever wondered what would happen if the characters in The Silmarillion were smoooooth like they were sippin' a Sex on the Beach on a party barge in the harbor at Alqualondë? The "Yacht Rock Silmarillion" retells The Silmarillion as though the characters all had perms…
"Move farther north," Caranthir says to her a month after the attack, gaze steady on her even as his hands continue briskly gutting fish. "There is plenty of land closer to my fortress, and my people can help protect yours if there is another attack."
Fëanor shrugged, studying the contents of his wine glass. “Something must be done about that house. It will fall down eventually.” “It does not follow that it must be you that tears it down single-handedly. Are you sure you do not want help?” “It’s not as though I…

By definition, fanworks fandom does not draw a lot of boundaries, but community archives and events have taken a strong stance against AI-generated fanworks due to ethical considerations and member input.

What a wonderful story to wake up to on a dreary, rainy Sunday morning! I love it.
<i>‘It's their Vanyarin blood,’ he muttered, trying to find an explanation for the effect these children of Finarfin had on him. He was forgetting that full-blooded Vanyar had never quite managed to reduce him to a comparable state.</i>
Great lines.
<i>'It's my family,' said Turgon to Elenwe. . . .
Elenwe could see that he was both extremely embarrassed and extremely proud of all of them.</i>
What a wonderful expression of ambivalence. Poor Turgon.
I really enjoyed the thought of this impromptu concert with everyone coming from the different places in the market to join in. I can almost hear the flutes and harps now. The embarrassment and pride of Turgon at the end is the perfect touch.
Technically, it's not really a flash mob, I suppose, because it's genuinely spontaneous!
But I was very much remembering a video of a flash mob performing Beethoven's Ode to Joy at Sabadel that Elfscribe posted some time ago as I wrote this. Do you know it?
I think (I hope) I've said it before on a different venue, but I'll say it again: This is just delightful! I'm so glad a last-minute addition I made to "Doggerland Skull" prompted this great plotbunny/scene.
"Huan sat down on his haunches with a sigh. He raised his snout but caught Celegorm's stern eye and thought better of howling."
Haha! And M with the tambourine, and I with her descant :). Too rarely are these sorts of happy moments recounted, but even this most dysfunctional of families must have had enough of them to give them all a store of pleasant memories. As usual, great stuff!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed this! It was fun to write.
Yes, I think the dysfunctionality was not always so evident and there were a few shared pleasant memories between all of them, not just between one or two who were close friends.
