I loved this story! Such a wonderful surprise. I've often thought of Maglor existing through the ages. Having him be able to hook up with Olórin is a wonderful idea. You wrote a lovely story and set the stage nicely for continued adventures. Awesome job!
This really is a heart-warming story for a cold winter evening, with great description and characterization. The image at the end resonates, although I had not known the arrangement you mention in the endnotes.
What a lovely story! I've always loved Maglor through the ages stories where despair and hopelessness aren't his travel mates. You give an original twist to Gandalf's return.
Better late than never, I hope 2018 will be joyful!
BTW, have you read Lipstick's Captain Tinkerbell ? It perfectly matches with your WWI scene.
Thank you, Angelica :) I'm really pleased you liked it. I too like to imagine Maglor having some joy in his life as well as the inevitable sorrow. And yes, I do know Lipstick's story, although I haven't read it for a long time...I must revisit it! Happy 2018 to you too.
