yes, certainly, but perhaps like any strategist, he'd want to destroy his enemies but keep the infrastructure intact, for his later use ?

I like this explanation of the building of Orthanc and your take on the friendship between Gil-galad and a Numenorean.

Nice to see all that cooperation between peoples and, apparently, use of a ring without causing harm, despite the grief of the Fall that precedes!

thanks, sorry to take so long to reply, i didn’t notice the comments *facepalm*

yes, apparently is the key word here... Orthanc as marred as the rest of Arda, or more so because of the nature of its construction?
