Opportunity

Ar-Pharazôn muses on progress and opportunity.

Prompt was an image of Notre Dame Cathedral under restoration.

Read Opportunity

Everything can be built higher. Every tower can be taller, every window larger and more beautiful than before. The palaces can be made more magnificent. Bigger ships can be built, to sail farther than ever before. Andor can be more powerful, its people happier. Ar-Pharazôn has ways and means. He has connections. And now, he has the wizard. Zigûr has power. Having Zigûr here, now, means power. Ar-Pharazôn is not afraid to grasp that power. Only a fool would reject this opportunity. Don’t miss it! You’re not a fool. He will call Zigûr now, and then they will talk. Privately.

Gift-giving

Curvo gives Tyelko a begetting day present.

Prompt from Holiday Party: Gift-giving: From hobbits to Galadriel to Sauron (excuse us, Annatar), there is plenty of gift-giving in the Legendarium. Create a fanwork that features gifts or their givers.

Read Gift-giving

The most difficult thing was to hide it from Tyelko’s sharp eyes. They shared a room, and if he hid it somewhere else, Ammë could find and confiscate it. Finally, he placed the jar in the wardrobe and covered it with a scarf. He needed to feed it for a week, but thankfully it ate worms he dug in the garden.

He was relieved when Tyelko’s begetting day finally arrived. He took the glass jar and opened the lid. His brother took the black snake out, gently brushing the smooth skin.

“Thank you Curvo, I love him already!” Tyelko grinned.

Landslide

Turgon misses Elenwë.

Song prompt: Landslide by Fleetwood Mac. CW for angst.

Read Landslide

I will never see you walking on the beaches of Vinyamar. I’ll never hear your laughter again. The sound of waves breaking on the shore – for my ears only. Snow covering Mount Taras – you don’t know of it. This new daylight – I want to show it to you, and more.

Itarillë is getting older, and I’m getting older, too. They say I’ve grown solemn, but you know that it was not always so. The ocean is whispering to me, but I don’t listen. I turn my gaze on the mountain peak. I find some solace in the purity of snow.

Ar-Pharazôn had that modern vibe of perpetual growth and consumption, never being satisfied.

Awww, Curvo's gift to Turko was so touching! Especially how he had to hide it from their mother.

Turgon's thoughts are just so brutal.

All three were so well done!
