Fëanor shrugged, studying the contents of his wine glass. “Something must be done about that house. It will fall down eventually.” “It does not follow that it must be you that tears it down single-handedly. Are you sure you do not want help?” “It’s not as though I…

Oof, creepy! I love how subtly you've incorporated hints of who these characters are (I didn't look at the info before reading but I was able to catch on, even with my pitiful knowledge of post-First Age lore). I can totally see how this corruption would take place and I feel for the speaker.
That insidious promise of betterness that pervades so many things in life... what will you give up of yourself to have that promise. Like the ring, promises of power and victory and overcoming, to be twisted and corrupted. Oof. It's such an evil little thing, very fitting of Sauron in every way.
Misterious, now I wonder who is this strange white god... he could be anybody. This has really sparked my curiousity, even if only to make sure that this little boy will live a good life!
Oh... I'm sorry to bring you the news... but the white god is, in fact, Sauron. He is recruiting a young prince with the promise of glory and gold - and, when I wrote it, I envisioned he would be the future Witch King of Angmar. Thank you for reading and commenting!
No, it wouldn't be that simple, would it? I can only begin to imagine what promises Sauron could have made to Kings of Men that would have sound appealing to them, aside immortality. Thank you so much for the comment!
