In September 2026, Marquette University released a dataset about their Tolkien fanzine collection. Analysis of the data reveals what these fanzines contained and show how pre-internet Tolkien fandom responded to the publication of "The Silmarillion."
Across the history of the "Silmarillion," Eönwë's role settles on a character who leads without taking upon himself the power to mete out justice and who acts with equanimity across some of the most harrowing conflicts in the early legendarium.

I enjoyed listening through this; it was interesting to see how the lyrics connected to Maedhros's life and personality. And you did a great job finding songs that fit him so well! I especially liked the songs "Blood on My Name" and "Weathered"; the lyrics almost seemed as if they had been written for Maedhros, and the Lazarus imagery is giving me thoughts.

Thank you! I always did enjoy how this one turned out. "Weathered" is a song I've loved since I was a kid but I was listening to it in the car one day and was like Oh this is Maedhros (TM). I'm glad you enjoyed the Lazarus imagery for him too! Sure he came back from Angband and it seems like a miracle, but he is definitely not the same anymore...
