Iron chains bit his wrists, claws rent his flesh, fangs sank deep even as he returned the favor, the vile taste of blood filling his mouth.  Cold stone had numbed him beyond care, and darkness took him.  He felt his body sway.

“My lord?”  The familiar voice and a shake brought him back to the present, focusing on Edrahil’s face drawn in fear.

Back to the son of Barahir who stood weary before him.

“Forgive me,” Finrod murmured.  “It has passed. Please, come, tell me of your errand.”
