Our tradition on the SWG for November and December is to offer a single challenge that spans two months, that offers some kind of collaborative or extra element, and at the same time, provides multiple points of entry for participants who may be busy with travel, cooking, gatherings, and other holiday traditions. In other words, we want a challenge that allows the person who is spending a quiet holiday at home to veg out making fanworks while also welcoming participation from the person dashing off a sketch or drabble while waiting for a flight in a noisy, crowded airport.

This is a perennial challenge for our challeng mods, and this year, we have settled on Potluck Bingo as our November-December challenge. Just like a potluck features contributions of all sorts from anyone who wants to share, Potluck Bingo will use bingo boards constructed and suggested by ... you! And anyone else in our community who wishes to share.

This challenge will begin, as it usually does, on November 15, but we are announcing the challenge now in hopes that we can collect a good number of bingo boards to kick off the challenge in two weeks' time.

If you are graphically inclined, you can make you own bingo boards to share as part of the challenge. You can make as many as you want, and you can send them in to us at any time during the challenge window, beginning now through January 15. (If a template would be helpful to get started, we have them available for Canva, Photoshop, and text-only prompt lists.)

If graphics aren't your thing, but you would like to contribute prompts to be made into a card, you can find a form for submitting card prompts here. Note that there is a limit of one submission per person, and prompts are due no later than November 8.

And if you're graphically inclined and want to help make cards suggested by others, let the mods know, and we will share our prompt list with you. (Just reply to this email!)
