Echo the Mountain

four word prompt: pale, fell, name, day

The unfamiliar beach glitters under the light of the new moon, a pale silver akin, but not an exact match, to the flowers of Telperion. The mountains contain more than just stone and snow – other-worldly shout, or perhaps scream, or perhaps cry of anguish. The battle is done, monsters in retreat, and the mountain seems to hold its breath, holding space while the frost-bitten host recovers from the shock of the day. Names are slowly called, fathers looking for sons, brothers looking for sisters.

Turgon echoes the mountains, holding his youngest brother where he fell.

He sobs in the sand.
