It's horrifying to think what Maglor has been through in the meantime, or indeed to envisage that scene down in the dungeons, but still somehow a great relief to see Eonwe and the other Maia helping Maglor to fulfil the oath and release him from it.

This is excellent. Horrible to think of Maglor suffering all of that. But it is an interesting ending. I look forward to reading Eönwë's logic for this and what happens with the Silmarils. 

Poor Maglor! But at least he was given a chance to fulfil the Oath - and then decide where to go from there. I really liked how your Eönwë handled that. I wonder whether he expected that outcome, or whether he was prepared to deal with whatever Maglor decided to do? Either way glad to see that Maglor got free - at least for the most part.
