Even in blissful Aman, Celebrimbor makes swords.
Those who have returned from Mandos are supposed to forget old hurts and be at peace. Celebrimbor does not forget.
He has seen Unlight devour all, Finwë lying slain. He has seen flourishing cities fall by sudden attack; he will not forget Glaurung’s terrible shadow overhead or the Havens of Sirion in ashes. (And never, never will he forget the bloody ruins of Ost-in-Edhil.)
Though his love will always be for arts of peace, he takes up a sword and trains daily, so that his hands will not forget the skills of war.
