New Challenge: Allusive
Literature and art constantly refer back to each other using allusions, and this month's prompts are inspired by allusions to literature, myth, art, and history.
Prompt: ♥ ashen, echo, wind, grief ♥ it gets so cold here / and the night can freeze before you set it fire
The world is grey, light and airy and soft, the ashen leavings of a grass fire on the plains. Soft enough that even Eldar feet sink slightly in the snow.
The wind bites, gnawing through every available opening. The stitches that hold seal skin and bear fur and silk in the form of a person are enough, chills run down the seams.
The ice cracks, echoing down the line of huddled masses, instilling fear, anxiety, outrage in the hearts of all. They are so cold, and the ground is so unstable, and they are so cold.
Grief follows them all.
