Character of the Month: Eönwë This month's biography focuses on Eönwë, who started with a variety of identities but settled into the role of Manwë's herald, exemplifying the values of strong leadership and justice.
This is my new poetical attempt to add my own interpretation to Tolkien's Cosmology as to Eru's Creation and the Valar's minds and behind-the-scene providence reasons and mechanisms.. I often review Eä as part of our own world, just in another dimension, this is why I have always seriously…
Fëanor shrugged, studying the contents of his wine glass. “Something must be done about that house. It will fall down eventually.” “It does not follow that it must be you that tears it down single-handedly. Are you sure you do not want help?” “It’s not as though I…
“Do you know what grows on the shores of the southern isles? A trading-merchant might bring many strange specimens to our lands, like nothing I have ever seen. In recent days, I have tasted a ripe fruit with firm flesh that parted beneath my tongue in a burst of liquid sweetness. So…

In September 2026, Marquette University released a dataset about their Tolkien fanzine collection. Analysis of the data reveals what these fanzines contained and show how pre-internet Tolkien fandom responded to the publication of "The Silmarillion."
Across the history of the "Silmarillion," Eönwë's role settles on a character who leads without taking upon himself the power to mete out justice and who acts with equanimity across some of the most harrowing conflicts in the early legendarium.
Across three surveys and ten years, the Tolkien Fanfiction Survey has document when authors began writing. These data reveal trends in how film promotions, the films themselves, the books, and other historical contexts have influenced not only who writes but how long they stay.

Ooh! Well, of course their comfy idyllic life couldn't continue, and the truth would Iinevitably out at some point, but ooof! Ossë, the mischievous so and so! "This should be interesting" says he. He reminds me of a small boy poking insects with a sharp stick just to see what happens, without any emphathy for how they might experience it.
Oooh, so many repercussions... how will Celegorm deal, with the guilt and shame of his memories, as well as his perception that Daeron betrayed him. And the twins! How do they feel with this knowledge? And how will they react? So happy their story continues!
I can't bear it! Poor Lossë, and poor Daeron and the twins as well. What on earth was Ossë thinking?? I know Celegorm had to come back to himself at some point, but this is so, so hard - not least because he's just in time for terrible things to happen to Celebrimbor... :(
(And oh no, he must have remembered Huan, on top of everything else! Maybe he needs to be adopted by a dog.)
I really am glad there's a sequel to the wonderful ATWTB, honestly! This is such a powerful, painful opening, though - I've been thinking about it non-stop since I first read it on Saturday. At least the title is hopeful!
I don't think there was ever a scenario where the remembering would go well, honestly--but I did choose this particular timing (and the title!) very deliberately. (:
His death is one of the saddest, but surviving this will be so devastating in a whole new way. He's been betrayed by someone he called a friend, and will have to heal from all these terrible injuries on top of that. Celebrimbor being alive, along with his uncles, is going to add such interesting and complicated dimensions to this story. Can't wait to see what happens!
