New Challenge: Epic 80s
This month's challenge features hundreds of fresh prompts from the bodacious decade of the 1980s.

Maedhros, Fingon... and gifts. Based on details from Tolkien's Unfinished Tales and Histories of Middle Earth. Translation by Scythe_Lyfe.

Despite her physical disability, a woman crosses Beleriand to assist a fellow victim. She has help on the way.

In another dimension this is exactly what's happening: Fingon and Maedhros visit Nargathrond, and Finrod sees things he really doesn't want to.

Fingon rescues Maedhros from Thangorodrim, in all its awful detail.

Maedhros and Fingon’s first attempt at re-establishing a sexual relationship after Thangorodrim and the challenges of that, for both of them.

In the midst of last plans before battle, Fingon and Maedhros discuss the complexities of gender, avoid the complexities of politics, and embrace the complexities of their dreams for the future.

Fingon falls head over heels in love for the second time in his life.

Fingon's lives and loves.

In Gondolin, Turgon is depressed... A comedy and parody of the Silmarillion with a lot of characters and chapters. Chapter 20: Fear.

“They were right. The Valar were right all along.” Maglor watches Maedhros mourn.

It seems likely that a Maia of Aulë would have been on friendly terms with Mahtan's household. Most of the time.
Curumo and four generations of one family.
Update: Final chapter, "The Spike." Saruman sees Celebrimbor, and possibly wishes he hadn't.

Fingon rescues Maedhros from Thangorodrim.

Maglor learns something new about his musical instruments from a rather unusual creature.

Fingon and Maedhros are young and in love -- with each other and with themselves. A gift for Oshun.

Maedhros opened his eyes and saw a sky full of stars.
[An AU ending to The Noon-tide Night.]

Maglor dreams. He dreams about many things, but this night, he dreams of Nelyo. And of how he ended.

This is a collection of prose by and about Maedhros during his life, highlighting some of the most pivotal moments in his story.

The third Kinslaying was a hideous self-inflicted wound for the elves of Beleriand. With a little common sense and pragmatism, could it have been averted? Or is that asking too much of all parties involved?

I wondered recently if I ever thought of writing a Fingon/Maedhros piece where they made different choices. This was as close as I could get. So, the answer is, I guess I do not have it in me to change their fate. Canon heretic that I am, however, I’ve already changed it plenty to suit my taste—happily ever after in Valinor together after the suffering and unhappy deaths given them in The Silmarillion and their requisite rehab in the Halls of Mandos. It’s the only way I can sleep at night.
This is a gift for Himring, who makes them suffer more than I do.

Maedhros -- and Himring -- welcomes a visit for the season.

"Good morning," he says quietly, without looking at me. No one's said that to me in a long time.

Mandos fic madness for Halloween. In the halls of waiting, on the ward of the Ñ-specials, Tyelpe Curufinwion, Fëanorian brat extraordinaire, tells of his coming to Gondolin.
Written for alackofghosts on tumblr whose character design for Tyelpe I have shamelessly stolen. It was her art who made me wonder how this could happen.
