Dark Matter

Drabble for the Dark Matter prompt combo "dark is evil", "personification", and "proper nouns".

It was, she thought as she sank back on the grass to gaze at the sky, a perfect night.

Nothing but stars and the darkness of the forest like a warm blanket lying just beyond her feet.

On such a night, one could forget the danger in the north, the sentence pronounced upon them, the blood on the shores they’d left behind.

This was night as the ones who had first awakened had known it, unstained and untamed.

Nights like this made everything she had gone through worth it.

She could only hope that would hold true until the end.
