This is my new poetical attempt to add my own interpretation to Tolkien's Cosmology as to Eru's Creation and the Valar's minds and behind-the-scene providence reasons and mechanisms.. I often review Eä as part of our own world, just in another dimension, this is why I have always seriously…
In his old age, Isildur's former esquire Ruinamacil, known to later histories only as Ohtar, writes his own account of his escape from the ambush at Gladden Fields and journey to Imladris, and the history of his friend whom Isildur ordered to flee with him.
Fëanor shrugged, studying the contents of his wine glass. “Something must be done about that house. It will fall down eventually.” “It does not follow that it must be you that tears it down single-handedly. Are you sure you do not want help?” “It’s not as though I…

By definition, fanworks fandom does not draw a lot of boundaries, but community archives and events have taken a strong stance against AI-generated fanworks due to ethical considerations and member input.
In a book as full of death as the Quenta Silmarillion, grief and mourning are surprisingly absent. The characters who receive grief and mourning—and those who don't—appear to do so due to narrative bias. Grief and mourning (or a lack of them) serve to draw attention toward and away from objectionable actions committed by characters.
This presentation for Mereth Aderthad 2025 discusses the parallels between the concept of abnegation in the scientific work surrounding the atomic bomb and in The Silmarillion. The relinquishment of self-interest in favor of the interests of others, abnegation was identified by Tolkien as a powerful act of spirit and reason. The legendarium has many examples of the complexities of abnegation, which parallel similar discussions held by physicists during and after World War II.

well errr... I have posted it before but this is more of the place where I feel I can get reviews from a select group of people, a narrower selection (ie Silmarillion fans, rather than anyone who comes across it). Most of my stories get posted on sites where I belong as I only have three *laughs* which are publishable haha, and this is my best so goes up first!
I'm impressed that this is your first story. :)
Big big big grin!
Thank you for shring which are your favourite parts, I am particulary pleased with the second quote as I had always seen that connection but was unsure whethre to put it in as people mighn't have understood it. :)
Maglor repenting is life, a theme I never get tired off. You give us some lovely visuals here, I think for me the most powerful is this one:
I will never see my mother again. I wonder how she fares. Alone. I wonder sometimes how she felt after we left. Where she dwells, if she still sculpts the statues that looked real. All of us left her in the madness of the Oath.
Thank you for reviewing! It really makes my day-honestly!
I always wondered what the Feanorions would have though about their mother and how they left her behind. I hope that I gave a new perhaps different insight into Maglor repenting, as it is a common one :), but I hope Ido it justice and not ruin what Tolkien wrote. :)
You captured Maglor's character, and his thoughts and feelings, very well. Above all, his repentance and his longing for his family were all the more heartbreaking because they were unfulfilled.
A lot of people have found things in this story that were not completly unintentional and whenever people review, there is always a new emotion they have found.
I am extreamly slow at writing, so I wouldn't expect anything anytime soon! XD I like Kudos, it makes me feel happy!
I particularly like, "I am so cold. It is so dark. Even the stars veil their faces against me." It makes wonder where he is, and how far he has wandered. In the same vein, his not knowing the eventual fate of Elros and Elrond really emphasises his loneliness.
I read some of your reviews, but till now, not your story.
Your penname, on one of your reviews, made me curious, sorry.
I had been to Lindale, near Grange-over-Sands, two times last summer, on holiday, and I booked this summer for the Netherwoods, and again for Lindale, in Juli and August, and therefore I wondered, if you are living at lovely Lindale...
